Roger Francois Mother and Child Wood Heads Sculpture, signed on bottom. 17 3/4" H x 9 3/4" W x 6 3/4" D. Roger Francois was born around 1928 in Petite Riviere, on the Artibonite plain of central Haiti. He began as a wood sculptor, and started painting as well in the early 1960s. He loved to paint and sculpt Haitian women, both nudes and market women with baskets and braids.
